Our Mission

Southgate’s Mission is to bring the "unchanging message" to our "ever-changing culture". We want to show how the Bible is relevant to the challenges of everyday living. Like the cornflakes commercial that was recently on TV which said,” Try it again… for the first time" is what we would like for people who have given up on church to do.

We believe a healthy church embraces the Great Commandment and the Great Commission that are taught by Jesus Himself.

These passages from the Bible remind us to love God first and then our neighbor. At Southgate Community Church, we seek to demonstrate God's love to the people of North Grenville and the surrounding region.

Southgate Community Church is recognized as a "purpose driven church" which means that everything we endeavor to do is done to fulfill God's purpose for his church. We are committed to these 5 purposes:

1. "Love God with all your heart" (worship)
2. "love your neighbor as yourself" (service)
3. "go… and make disciples" (evangelism)
4. "… baptizing them" (fellowship)
5. "teaching them to obey…" (discipleship)

Our fancy Mission Statement reads like this:

"Southgate Community Church will be in the community to bring people to Jesus and membership in his family, lead them to Christ like maturity, and equip them to do ministry in the church and fulfill their life mission in the world, in order to please God."
